Popo And Fifina is an adorable story, told in simple language that will give young children a pleasant, if rather rose colored, picture of what Haiti once was. As a story book it has just the right amount of gentle adventure to keep the reader interested. 

The fact that this book is so completely innocent and sweet is remarkable considering the joint authors radical, controversial and sometimes socialistic adult works, some of which concern Haiti and their outrage at the situation of the black people there.  A little is told about the authors on the back of the Opie Library edition. The descriptions of the author's political leanings will require parental discretion.
