No More Additions...For Now

It isn't easy, after building BookAngles, book by book over the years, to stop adding more. But, as of 2009, that is the situation we find ourselves in. As explained elsewhere on this page, we have other work to do for now, and we will not be adding more books in the foreseeable future.

Our love for good books and desire to serve families remains. And BookAngles lives on as a rich repository of commentary and helpful information on over 160 books. May you find BookAngles beneficial for many years to come.

Oh, and we might start adding books again some day. Don't count us out.

Welcome to BookAngles

Our book reviews help parents and others make decisions about books for children and youth.

There is nothing worthwhile in the simple act of reading, yet some parents give children mediocre materials that compromise their values just because "it gets them to read." Good books are worth knowing, because the value of reading is in the content.

Search the reviews by title or by author. Read

  • the description
  • our opinion of the book and rating
  • a detailed description of noteworthy issues to consider (registered users only)

Concerned parents know their children. BookAngles helps them to know their books, as well — hopefully before the books get into the child's hands.

Additionally, we designate certain books as "Hazardous Reading Material." These books often found on recommended reading lists, library shelves and classrooms threaten to undermine the values of traditional families. The Hazardous Reading Material list, and many other features, are available to Registered Users, only.

End Slavery

The best way to show your appreciation for this free service:

Free the slaves

For many years, our focus was on helping families train their own children. Our heart is still there, but this season of life has us focused on something old, yet new – slavery. More people are held as unwilling slaves today (27 million) than at any time in history, including over 200,000 in the U.S., mostly women and children.

If you appreciate the service BookAngles has provided over the years to you and others, then we invite you to show that appreciation with a donation to our work with International Teams.

to end slavery, because every slave is a family member. Thanks.
